Produced from 1967 to 1975 in far smaller numbers than the M3, it is the last M made entirely by hand in Wetzlar before production shifted, and it remains a favorite of street and documentary photographers who want a 35mm-frameline body with no electronics anywhere in it.

This M4 has been CLA'd and professionally refurbished, making it an exceptional everyday shooter. The rangefinder patch is bright and contrasty, the viewfinder is clear, and the shutter speeds have been calibrated across the range. The single-stroke advance is smooth and the rapid-load system works as it should.

The Summaron 35mm f/3.5 has been serviced, is free of haze and fungus, and is ready for everyday use.
