Yashica Sound 20XL
The Yashica Sound 20XL is a Super 8 camera built for low-light shooting. It pairs an ultra-fast f/1.1 zoom lens with a 230° XL shutter and a non-reflex viewfinder that helps maximize brightness. It recognizes 40 and 160 ASA Super 8 film stocks. It runs on 6×AA batteries (the 9V compartment is only for sound functions, which are no longer usable).

We started Brooklyn Film Camera to take the guesswork out of buying a Super 8 camera. Most decades-old movie cameras were never built to run at cinema-standard 24fps, and a wipe-down is never enough to make one shoot like it did the day it left the factory. So we do the real work.
Every Super 8 camera we sell passes through our in-house technicians. We modify and calibrate the mechanism to true 24fps, service the motor and metering, replace seals and aged components, and bench-test every function before anything ships.
