Perfect for the Smokey Mountain National Park photos that I took.
Kodak Portra 160 - ColorEDIT: I got a nice message in response and a speedy resolution, so updating stars Original review was about a mysteriously long wait time to get a quote for a repair, and a lack of refund of the inspection fee when I picked up the camera before any inspection had happened.
Love this place
The light meter on my Nikon FE2 stopped working. This was not a camera they typically work on, but they took it for me and ordered the parts needed to make the repair. James was extremely communicative and thorough, the camera has been working perfectly since I got it back. Will absolutely be coming back here for future repairs.
Big thanks to Keith at Brooklyn Film Camera for helping me troubleshoot some issues I was having with an SX-70 that I purchased at a thrift shop! The camera is now working and taking beautiful photos.
Shipping took longer than expected but it was high quality service with quick response and I got the camera before I went on my honeymoon.
The camera was packed well and so far the mechanisms work great on the camera and I look forward to seeing the shots that I took for my honeymoon.
Pentax K1000Arrived a bit late, but five stars for the quality service and ensuring that I received my camera before my honeymoon! The camera was well packed and showed up in perfect condition.
I went in worrying that my Christmas gift (Nikon FE2) was broken because the shutter would stick and turned out it was just dead batteries. Dan was really kind, helped me out and didn’t make me feel silly at all. I’m completely new to film cameras and the fact that it was simply a battery issue could’ve been an embarrassing experience, but I wasn’t made to feel that way. Great store with even better customer service!
For those weary about buying used film cameras, I extremely recommend buying from Brooklyn Film Camera. In April of this year, I bought an Olympus Mju I (a camera frequently bought at this store) and was skeptical at first. I put the camera to the test and unfortunately ran into some technical difficulties. However, Brooklyn Film Camera gives customers a 90 day warranty on all cameras because although camera issues cannot be prevented, they can most definitely be solved. The issue was that my warranty had just ended a week before the issue arose, but I believed it didn't hurt to ask and see if I could receive some help. To my surprise I was granted the green light to bring my camera for a check up and with the help of two employees – Keith and Taylor, I was able to successfully get a replacement camera (free of charge) and have been enjoying my camera ever since. Brooklyn Film Camera is one of those stores that makes sure the customer's experience (both inside and outside of the store) is met with the upmost care and respect. I will definitely be shopping here for my next camera as I progress in film photography.
Keith helped me with my purchase and am super excited to start taking photos :)
Purchased a Canon AE-1 a few weeks back and it has been great to shoot with! Keith at the shop was super helpful in helping me choose which camera to purchase. He let me handle a couple different ones to see which one felt best, explained the differences and possible pros/cons between them, and let me take my time in deciding (on top of answering all my questions). I've shot several rolls of film with it already and have had no issues at all. The film processing at the shop has also been great!

DAN IS AWESOME!! so knowledgeable and helpful. Answered my annoying questions on the phone too :)
Keith was extremely helpful, very excited to use what I got!
bought a camera here back in Jan and the shutter got jammed months later. brought it in for repair and James & team immediately cared for (and solved for) the issue! such attentive and kind support– repair team is apparently in every weekday :)
Very helpful and friendly! Keith helped me with a camera I found, got it working and showed me how to replace the film. Will definitely be back for any camera needs!
It is always great to find places that still cater to film photographers, especially instant film. Followed BFC for a bit and now am a loyal customer.
Bought this adapter for my Polaroids SX-70 and SLR 680. Shot a few test images with it by itself and with some filters and ordered a second dedicated one for each camera.
SX-37 AdapterI recently bought an SX-70 from Brooklyn Film Camera, and honestly it was the easiest buying experience ever. I had no idea how to use it, but Dan took the time to walk me through everything, showed me how the camera works, and even helped me load my first pack of film. I appreciate him so much for his patience, professionalism, expertise, and willingness to share his knowledge. If you’re thinking about picking up a camera, I can’t recommend them enough.
Went in there with a broken Lens and Keith was very helpful. Highly recommend for all film camera needs.
Keith and their co-worker were helpful and engaging. A really nice shopping experience for curious beginners, including my 9.5 and 6 year old kids
Randomly got here and it’s a cute place!
My new lab to develop film!! Also Dan is the GOAT he let us pop in to take a photobooth photo even though he was closing on a Saturday night. Thank you so much Dan!!!!!
Thank you Keith for helping a girl out, good customer service. Bought some vintage paper: I will share results and highly recommend this space for all photographers and artists. Love the party lights in the bathroom, the Hello Kitty and Barbie polaroid cameras for sale are so cute! BFC is an analog photographer’s dream: 4x5, large-format, Polaroid, Fujifilm, various gear, serious vintage cameras, and ephemera. Also exhibits artist’s work. I will return with pals for the vintage analog photo booth (it’s magic) and I need to repair my SX-70. Let me know if you still do repairs!
Honestly, not a single complaint, I do really enjoy this place. I subscribed to their expired film club every three months, and it’s so fun and exciting to see which film I get. They also include a little information card and what they recommend shooting it at for ISO. I definitely would recommend.
I subscribed to the expired film club. I get 3 rolls every 3 months and honestly, I couldn’t be happier. I looked everywhere for expired film, but to have different options sent right to my doorstep without me thinking about it. Every three months is incredible. They also have a monthly option, which I adore! Would highly recommend - it’s so fun!
