About Camera Straps
How do I attach a camera strap?
Thread the strap end up through the metal lug on the camera body, then back down through the strap's slider, and pull it tight. Do the same on the other side. A point-and-shoot takes a small loop instead: pull the strap loop through the eyelet, then feed the strap through the loop. Our point-and-shoot strap works this way.
Are camera straps worth it?
Yes. A strap is the cheapest insurance for a camera, and vintage cameras are fragile. A drop can bend a shutter or crack a body. On our shelf right now, straps cost about $7.50–$32. A repair costs far more, and some damage cannot be fixed.
Which camera strap is best?
It depends on the camera. Small point-and-shoots do well with a light wrist or neck strap at $7.50. An SLR is heavier, so choose a wide strap like a Couch strap (about $24–$32, recycled seatbelt webbing, made in the USA).
Which strap fits a Polaroid camera?
The flat Polaroid strap ($14.99) fits the Polaroid Now+, Now, OneStep+ and OneStep 2. Vintage SX-70 straps fit only the Alpha 1, Sonar and SLR 680/690. They do not attach to an SX-70 Original or Model 2, so check for strap mounts first.
