Accessibility statement

Our commitment. Brooklyn Film Camera wants every shopper to browse and buy with ease. This includes shoppers who use a keyboard only, a screen reader, large text, or reduced motion.

Our target. We aim for WCAG 2.2 Level AA, the standard US courts and the DOJ use for ADA Title III claims. This is a target we work toward. It is not a promise that every page is perfect today.

Ask us for help

If you have trouble using this site, we will help you another way. Contact us and tell us the page and the problem.

We aim to reply within 2 business days. If you need a product price, stock status, or an order update, we can give it by email or phone.

We can also help in the shop in person, read out product details, or take your order by phone.

What we have fixed

  • Search box now has a label for screen readers (live as of 2026-10-05).
  • Rewards button now has a visible name (live as of 2026-10-05).

Known limits

An audit on 2026-10-01 found 12 high-risk problems. A re-check on 2026-10-05 showed 10 still open. We are fixing them in order, with all 12 Tier-1 fixes due by Oct 31, 2026:

  • Desktop menu submenus are hard to open by keyboard.
  • The orange “Add to Cart” button and prices are low contrast. We are darkening the orange.
  • Collection filters and the sort box miss labels for screen readers.
  • The cart drawer does not move focus when it opens.
  • Product gallery dots have no names. Hero images need plain alt text. One buy-back image needs alt text.
  • The home hero auto-plays with no pause button.
  • The footer Subscribe button is low contrast.

Checkout is built by Shopify and passed its 2026-10-02 check. The work above covers the storefront theme before checkout.

How we test

  • Automated scan with axe-core 4.10.2 on desktop and 320 px mobile (2026-10-01).
  • Manual keyboard test of header menu, cart drawer, product controls, and filters.
  • Monthly static re-check plus a human keyboard pass. Results feed the G17 tracker.
