An Olympus point and shoot, like the Stylus MJU, Stylus Zoom or XA2, XA3 and XA4 Macro, is small enough for a coat pocket and sharp enough to keep. Our other point and shoot film cameras include the Konica Big Mini, Nikon L35AF, Yashica T3, Pentax Espio 80 and 115G, Minolta Hi-Matic AF2, the waterproof Canon Sure Shot WP-1, the Leica Mini Zoom and the Contax T2. Right now they run from about $225 to $3,060.
Every camera is refurbished in Brooklyn: cleaned, checked and tested on professional equipment, and each one comes with our store warranty.
Which Olympus point and shoot should I get?
The Stylus MJU is the one most people ask for: autofocus, a sharp 35mm f/3.5 lens and a sliding cover. The XA2 is simpler, with three-zone focus. The XA4 Macro has a wider 28mm lens that focuses close.
Are point and shoot film cameras good for beginners?
Yes. Exposure is automatic and most focus for you. Our point and shoot guide goes through the popular models.
What film do they take?
Standard 35mm film. When you finish, our lab develops it, in person or by mail.
What is a point and shoot camera?
A point and shoot camera is a small, automatic camera. You frame the shot and press the button. The camera sets focus, exposure and flash, and on most models it loads and winds the film for you. They fit in a pocket. Our 35mm cameras include SLRs if you want manual control.
What is a good cheap point and shoot film camera?
On our shelf right now, the cheapest are about $225–$320, such as the Minolta Explorer Freedom Zoom EX and the Canon AutoBoy. Prices rise for cult models like the Contax T2. Each one is checked and has a 3-month warranty.
How do you load 35mm film into a point and shoot camera?
Open the back, drop the film cartridge in on the left, and pull the tip of the film to the mark inside. Close the back. Most point and shoots then wind to frame one and read the film speed by themselves. If yours does not, set the ISO by hand. Our 35mm film is ready to load.
