Every vintage Polaroid camera we sell is restored and tested in our Brooklyn shop before it goes on the shelf, and comes with a six-month warranty. Folding SX-70s get an OpenSX70 board, so they shoot both SX-70 and 600 film. Polaroid 600s are the simplest way in: fixed focus, a built-in flash, and they take 600 film. Are Polaroid cameras worth buying?

Yes, if you want a real print in your hand a few minutes after you press the button. Each shot costs about $2.50–$3.50, so you take fewer, more careful photos. They are great for parties, trips and guestbooks, where people want to keep the picture.

What is a really good Polaroid camera?

It depends on what you want. The Polaroid GO (about $90) is the smallest and cheapest. The Now+ (about $150) is new and easy. A vintage 600 ($125–$400) gives the classic look. An SX-70 ($540–$735) folds flat and lets you focus through a glass lens.

Is Polaroid or Instax better?

Instax is cheaper, about 90 cents a shot for Instax Mini, and its prints are smaller. Polaroid prints are bigger and square, with softer, dreamier color, at about $2.50–$3.50 a shot. Choose Instax for volume and parties, Polaroid for the classic look.

Did they stop making Polaroid cameras?

No. The original Polaroid company stopped making instant film in 2008. A small team called the Impossible Project restarted production in 2010 and later took over the Polaroid name. Today Polaroid makes new cameras such as the Now+, Flip, GO and I-2, plus film for vintage cameras.

Should I buy a new or a vintage Polaroid camera?

New Polaroids like the Now+ and Flip focus for you, charge by USB and need no service. Vintage 600 and SX-70 cameras have the classic build and look, and ours are tested in Brooklyn with a 6-month warranty. Both shoot film Polaroid still makes today.
