SX-70 cameras can be up to 53 years old and are in much need of some attention. Time causes key elements of the camera to oxidize and/or corrode which hinders the camera’s performance along with the possibility of parts breaking through wear and tear. Our Polaroid SX-70 Restoration Service includes a diagnostic check of all mechanical parts, a comprehensive Cleaning, Lubrication, and Adjustment (CLA). We offer the option to have the camera’s original leather replaced with a brand new leather covering. All refurbished cameras come with a 6 month mechanical warranty.

Mail-In Instructions

You will be emailed a label upon ordering a restoration. Do not mail us your camera to our storefront address we will not get the package and your item will be lost.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a repair take?

Our standard turnaround time is 2-4 weeks depending on how many cameras are in our repair queue. Sometimes this takes a bit longer if a camera needs more extensive servicing. We do not have a rush service at this time.

Can I troubleshoot my own issue with my camera?

Within that playlist, If you are unable to find a troubleshoot relevant to the issue you are experiencing, it most likely requires an in-depth and specific solution; which our technicians can most likely provide within our refurbishment.

Can I talk to the technician about my camera?

Due to the high volume of cameras, it is not possible to have direct communication with our technician. If you have any questions or specific notes regarding your camera, please email us atsx70@brooklynfilmcamera.com. 

If I have a specific leather I would like to be placed on my camera after repair, can I mail it to you?

Of course. After our technician refurbishes it, our aesthetic technician will clean and re leather it for you. 

How long is your waitlist

We expect our current waitlist to take 4-6 weeks to catch up.

Do you repair box cameras?

No, currently we only service folding SX-70 cameras.

Do you repair digital cameras?

No, currently we only service analog film cameras.

Are parts replacement included with the repair cost?

Replacing a part of the camera is not included in the repair cost. If parts are broken when the camera is sent in, we will invoice you for the cost of replacing it. 

Can I ship my camera to you?

Yes! But only via our provided labels. Do not mail in your camera to us without first receiving a label
