The Minolta XL-Sound series are straightforward but powerful motion picture cameras that shoot Super 8mm film. With a much wider zoom range than the 42 or 64 models, the XL-Sound 84 is a seriously capable Super 8 machine for travel, music videos, and everyday motion work. This camera is modded to shoot true 24FPS. Metering supports 50–200 ISO.

We started Brooklyn Film Camera to take the guesswork out of buying a Super 8 camera. Most decades-old movie cameras were never built to run at cinema-standard 24fps, and a wipe-down is never enough to make one shoot like it did the day it left the factory. So we do the real work.
Every Super 8 camera we sell passes through our in-house technicians. We modify and calibrate the mechanism to true 24fps, service the motor and metering, replace seals and aged components, and bench-test every function before anything ships.
