Brooklyn Film Camera is looking for an experienced camera technician to join our repair studio. We service and restore film cameras across the spectrum, from 35mm SLRs and rangefinders to medium and large format, plus a heavy volume of instant cameras. (different department). If you know your way around a light seal, a shutter, and a rangefinder patch, and you like the idea of keeping analog gear alive, we want to talk.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic film cameras across a range of formats and brands
- Perform CLA (clean, lubricate, adjust) service on shutters, apertures, and film transport systems
- Calibrate rangefinders, light meters, and focus accuracy
- Replace light seals, mirror bumpers, and worn or broken components
- Test and quality-check every camera before it goes back to the customer
- Keep clear repair notes and status updates in our tracking system
- Manage your bench workflow and communicate turnaround estimates
- Help identify parts needs and flag cameras that aren't worth repairing
Requirements
- Mid to high experience in multiple film cameras. Different models/types are considered.
Nice to Have
- Ideally we are looking for someone with TLRs and Medium format capabailities.
