Spike is often hanging around the shop saying hi to people. You may often see spike with grease marks on his nose and paws from all of his nighttime camera work. He loves to be pet & lounge on our orange office couch.
Poppy enjoys knocking things over, sleeping in our kitchen cabinets, and occasionally roaming the neighbors yards. If you're lucky you'll get a pet, but probably just a meow from afar.
Ben owns and operates Brooklyn Film Camera.
Taylor is a freelance camera assistant, graphic designer, and lens tech at BFC. Her path through the film world started behind the camera, but eventually she found herself drawn to what's inside the gear. There's an art to fixing something broken — restoring a lens, cleaning out the years, and revealing its history.
Griffin does construction, project management, some photography, and bartending. When not working you may catch them playing pool, pinball, or biking around Brooklyn.
James was formally trained in film camera repair by some of the last factory trained film camera technicians in the world during his tenure at Nippon Photo Clinic Inc. At this point, he tends to fix more cameras than he breaks - which he thinks is pretty cool. When he's not busy with that, you can find him exploring on his bike with his camera, behind the camera on film sets, or playing his guitar, probably with his camera nearby
Hannah manages social media, design, and events planning. She enjoys tactile forms of creation just as much as she loves pushing pixels. In her free time, she enjoys experimenting with textiles, developing film, baking bread, jumping in lakes, and being with friends.
If you've ever seen someone on a neon green bike on the hunt for vanity plates, it was probably Addie. The Office & Fulfillment Coordinator at BFC, Addie can otherwise be found behind the camera or off somewhere reading a book. If you catch him without a Mets hat on, ask if everything's okay.
Malaya is a Brooklyn-based collage artist, collector and maximalist. She uses primarily found imagery and words in her work but occasionally incorporates her own photography. She collects just about everything, including but not limited to tiny trinkets, snoopy toys, ceramic rabbits, magazines, etc. When she is not repairing cameras at BFC she is usually rewatching her favorite movies and tv shows, decorating her home, making art or scrolling on pinterest.
Shanna is a freelance photographer, retoucher, and the owner of Larkhill Prints. When she's not hanging out with her Frenchie or trotting the globe, you can find her at BFC.
Mitch is an old-time fiddle and banjo player currently living in southern Spain. He has been involved in the film photography world since joining the Impossible Project in 2014, and is now the lead camera buyer for BFC.
