We're always looking for skilled camera technicians. Our techs covers a wide range: 35mm SLRs and rangefinders, point and shoots, medium format, TLRs, SX-70 and other Polaroid cameras, and lenses. You might be a generalist or deep in one system. Tell us what you're good at and maybe we'll build the role around it. Pay is $56,000 to $80,000 depending on expertise and experience.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair cameras on our bench
- Perform CLAs, shutter work, light seal replacement, and calibration
- Test and verify repairs against factory specifications
- Document work performed so customers and the team have a clear record
- Help maintain quality standards across everything that leaves the shop
- Work with the team on tricky diagnoses and share what you know
Requirements
- Real repair experience on film cameras, whether shop-trained or self-taught
- Comfortable working precisely with small mechanical assemblies
- Able to diagnose problems methodically rather than by guesswork
- Careful documentation habits
- Honest about what you can and can't fix, and willing to learn the rest
Nice to have
- Depth in a specific system: Leica, Hasselblad, SX-70, Nikon, Canon, medium format, or others
- Electronics and circuit-level troubleshooting
- Machining or fabrication for parts that are no longer available
