          About Classes, Workshops, and Events

How much do your photography workshops cost?

Tickets on our shelf right now cost about $40–$150. The street photography workshop is $40, the cyanotype workshop and the Polaroid color filters workshop are $45, and the two-part intro to film class is $150.

Do I need my own camera for a photography class?

It depends on the class. For the cyanotype workshop you need no camera, and we provide the materials. For the Polaroid filters workshop, bring a Polaroid camera and one unopened pack of color film. The intro to film class offers limited camera rentals for $25.

What does the intro to film photography class cover?

It is a beginner class in two parts. First you learn to load a camera, meter light and set exposure, then shoot a roll on a group walk. Next week the group reviews the photos. Developing and scanning are included, using our film lab. It costs $150.

Where do your workshops take place?

Most run at our shop, 855 Grand Street in Brooklyn, including the backyard sessions. The intro class meets at 56 Bogart Street, and the street photography workshop meets in Midtown Manhattan. Each ticket page lists the date and meeting place.
