              About Instant Optics

Browse our collection of custom lenses, filters, and prisms made for Polaroid SX-70, 600, SLR 680, SLR 690, and I-2 cameras. Open a new world of instant creativity today!

Which lenses and prisms fit my Polaroid?

Instant Optics have 37mm threads, so they need an adapter. SX-70, SX-70 Sonar and SLR 680/690 cameras use the SX-37 Adapter. Clamshell-style Polaroid 600 cameras use the 637 Adapter ($45). If you lift the flash to reach the lens, your 600 is a clamshell.

              What do the prisms do?

Each prism bends light into a different effect on your Polaroid. The Diamond makes five images, the Vortex adds a halo, the Kaleidoscope swirls colors and the Split blurs two sides. They cost about $35–$48.

What do the wide-angle and telephoto lenses do?

They change your view. An SX-70 sees roughly like a 45mm lens on 35mm, and a 600 a little wider. The wide-angle widens that to about 20mm and the telephoto narrows it to about 90mm. Each costs $29.50. The fisheye ($69.99) goes wider, to about 19mm.
