Why buy from us, not eBay

                          How we service every camera.

Every camera in our shop — SLR, rangefinder, medium format, TLR, point & shoot — is refurbished in our shop before it goes on the shelf.

                          01

                          More than a wipe-down

Most shops clean the outside and call it done. Our techs go further: full internal service, part replacement where needed, and recalibration to factory tolerances.

                          02

                          We work on everything

Cameras come in broken and leave shooting. Our repair department is in-house, which means faster turnaround and no guessing games about what was actually done.

                          03

                          Tested with pro gear

Shutter speeds, meter accuracy, and focus calibration all get checked against professional test equipment and factory specs.

                          04

                          Fast easy warranties

Every camera comes with a warranty. Want longer? We offer extended warranties at checkout. Something goes wrong, bring it back.

                          Our service process

                          5 steps

The specifics vary by camera type, but the principle is the same: nothing goes on the shelf until it is ready to shoot.

                          Step 01

                          Full intake

Body opened, mechanics checked, condition logged before any work starts.

                          Step 02

                          Service the system

Each camera gets what it needs, mechanical or electronic, to run the way it was built to.

                          Step 03

                          Dial it in

Shutter speeds, meter accuracy, and focus all checked on professional gear.

                          Step 04

                          Replace worn parts

Wear parts replaced as needed — what gets swapped depends on the camera.

                          Step 05

                          Second tech signs off

Every camera is checked by a second technician before it ships. Warranty card issued.

                          Risk, removed

If something is wrong, we fix it.

Every camera ships with a real warranty. If it stops working we will fix or replace it. We offer affordable extended warranties as well.

                          About Cameras

This is every vintage film camera we have on the shelf: 35mm cameras like the Pentax K1000, Canon AE-1 Program, Nikon FM2 and Nikon F3; rangefinders like the Leica M2, M3 and M4 and the Canon 7; point-and-shoots like the Olympus Stylus MJU, Konica Big Mini and Contax T2; medium format from the Yashica Mat-124 G to the Hasselblad 500CM; and Polaroid SX-70 and 600 instant cameras. Right now they run at a range of prices.

Each one is refurbished in Brooklyn and backed by our store warranty. New Polaroid cameras like the GO and Now+ are here too.

Which vintage camera is best for a beginner?

A manual 35mm SLR like the Pentax K1000 or Canon AE-1 Program teaches you exposure; a point-and-shoot handles the settings for you. Our beginner's guide to 35mm cameras goes through the options.

Is it safe to buy a used vintage camera?

Old cameras can have sticky shutters, light leaks or meters that read wrong. Buying one that has been refurbished and tested, with a warranty, takes most of that guesswork away.

What is the difference between 35mm and medium format?

35mm cameras are smaller and cheaper to shoot, with 24 or 36 frames per roll. Medium format cameras use 120 film for a much bigger negative and fewer frames.

                          What is an analog camera?

An analog camera records the picture on film instead of a digital sensor. Light passes through the lens and exposes the film, which then has to be developed before you can see the photos. Film camera and analog camera mean the same thing. They come in 35mm, medium format (120) and instant types.

How expensive is a good film camera?

On our shelf right now, prices start at about $90 for a new Polaroid GO and $225 for a refurbished point-and-shoot. Most refurbished 35mm cameras cost $300–$500. Leica and Hasselblad kits cost $3,500 or more. Our price guide breaks down every category.

                          Are film cameras still made?

A few new ones have come out in recent years, like the Leica M6 reissue and the Pentax 17, and Polaroid still makes new instant cameras. But most film cameras people buy today are vintage, built in the 1970s to 2000s. A vintage camera that has been serviced is often the better value, and many were built to last.

Where can I buy a film camera?

Here, online, or in person at our shop at 855 Grand Street in Brooklyn, open every day 11am to 8pm. Every vintage camera we sell is refurbished in our shop and comes with a warranty. In-store pickup is free, so you can order online and collect the same week.

What warranty comes with your cameras?

Point-and-shoots come with a 3-month warranty. 35mm SLRs, rangefinders, all medium format cameras and vintage Polaroid cameras come with 6 months. If something fails in that time, we repair or replace it. Cameras can be returned within 14 days with no restocking fee. Read the full warranty.
